My photographs represent the accumulation of 20 years worth of effort, mostly with a Nikon FE and the newer Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera. The film I shoot most is Fujichrome (100-400). My subjects range from the natural world (Stones in the Water) to street scenes to a remarkable trip to Bhutan. As with my painting, I concentrate on composition most of the time, but with a conscious awareness of the lighting. When I am lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, the magic of the moment appears on the print. I will not reveal how many failures I have had, even when I thought I had captured a good image. The joy is when I think that nothing has happened, and the printed image startles me.
Three albums of prints are available: Album 1 – Portfolio; Album 2 – Bhutan, and Album 3 – Stones in the Water. I hope you enjoy looking at them all. All prints are gigclee printed on Epson Premium Semi-gloss Photographic paper (19” x13”) using an Epson 2200 color printer. Slides were converted to digital images using an Epson Perfection series 3200 scanner and were minimally massaged employing a Photoshop CS program.
